GPers, how on earth do you manage abdominal pain? My left side is killing me. I try lying on my left side. I try hot packs….No pain meds because we know that makes things worth. My lupus has triggered a gp flare, too. Argh!
I have a TENS unit, but it hasn’t helped in the past. That is a good question because it certainly may be something others might like to try.The TENS unit is not to be used as a sole source of treatment. Stretching, core strengthening and a reasonable diet are paramount. But don’t over do it on any of the three or it’ll be a one way ticket on the pain train!
Side note: depending on the duration and severity of the pain, don’t self medicate. Get it looked at. Otherwise, you won’t know if the TENS is even appropriate for what’s causing your pain.
